Mallorca lives off hospitality for much of the year, and there is always room for a good bartender. Whether you want to make a career of it or simply fancy learning to make good cocktails, a barman course in Palma is the most direct way to start with a solid foundation.
What you will learn
Bar fundamentals
Getting to know the tools (shaker, mixing glass, jigger, strainer), how to organise your station and how to move behind the bar quickly and in an orderly way.
Cocktail techniques
Shaking, stirring, building, muddling, straining. Each technique has its reason and changes the final result of the cocktail. Also the importance of ice, measures and the balance between sweet, sour and alcohol.
The classics
The cocktails every bartender should master and that serve as the basis for creating your own. Understanding the classics is what later lets you improvise with good judgement.
Service and customer care
A good drink also depends on how it is served: presentation, dealing with customers, keeping the pace at busy times and hygiene behind the bar.
A first taste of flair
The basic moves with bottle and shaker that add a touch of show to the service. It is the gateway to the barman show.
Who it is for
- People who want to work in hospitality and are looking for a solid base to get started.
- Waiters who want to move into cocktails and improve their profile.
- Enthusiasts who want to make good cocktails at home or for their friends.
- Teams at hotels, restaurants or beach clubs who need hands-on training.
Hands-on training from day one
Cocktails are learned by doing. That is why our courses are based on practice behind the bar, with small groups and personal attention. If you are looking for something shorter or for a group, we also run tailor-made master classes.
Check dates and details on the barman course page or write to us and we will give you all the information with no obligation.
